Setups

Setups that Play Like You Do.
Your guitar should fight for you — not against you. At AMP’d, we dial in your electric, acoustic, or bass guitar so it feels right in your hands and responds to your style. Whether you shred, strum, or sludge through fuzz and feedback, a proper setup brings the soul back to your instrument.

Why Setups Matter

Even brand-new guitars need a setup. Wood breathes, metal moves, and your playing evolves. A good setup keeps everything in sync.
Here’s what we look at:

  • Neck relief and action for your preferred feel

  • Nut and bridge height

  • Intonation across the fretboard

  • Pickup balance and response

  • Hardware integrity and stability

It’s a full tune-up for tone and feel — the difference between “it plays fine” and “this thing sings.”

The AMP’d Edge

We’re players and techs — some of us wrench better than we riff, but we all live and breathe guitars. That means we understand what makes an instrument feel right from both sides of the bench.

Whether it’s your road-worn favorite or a fresh new build, our goal is the same: make it play like it truly belongs in your hands.

At AMP’d, a setup isn’t a repair — it’s refinement.

It’s your tone, your touch, and your vibe — just dialed in tighter.

The AMP’d Setup Philosophy

We don’t do cookie-cutter setups or factory specs — we create setups that feel like you. Every guitar that hits our bench gets personal attention from techs who actually play, gig, and know what a great instrument should feel like.

If your action feels a little high, your tuning drifts, or you can’t quite get the response you’re after, that’s where we come in. A proper setup isn’t just about fixing issues — it’s about unlocking playability and tone that feel natural and inspiring.

When to Get a Setup

Most players should schedule setups about once a year. Here in Florida, the humidity is not as bad as dry weather - but you still need to be cautious. If you play out often, travel, switch string gauges, and don’t have optimal control over your environment, you may need them more frequently.

Good times to book a setup include:

  • It’s been a while since your last one (or you’ve never had one)

  • You’ve changed string type or gauge

  • Weather shifts or humidity changes

  • Persistent fret buzz or tuning instability

  • You’re evolving as a player and need a feel that fits your new approach
